Reviewers consistently call the portions “generous,” noting plates that satisfy now and still travel well for later. Inside, the dining room is cozy with a homey, industrial feel; it’s an easy place to settle in, chat, and enjoy a meal without frills. Service is quick and kind, with many guests highlighting the helpful team and short (often no) wait times. Prices are straightforward—about the standard you’d expect for a sit‑down entrée, frequently around the $10 mark. Whether you’re vegan, eating with vegan friends, or simply curious, the menu is designed to please all palates. Families appreciate the kid‑friendly options and convenient counter seating, while groups find plenty of room. With ample free parking and a relaxed atmosphere, 10th Street Diner has become a go‑to for locals and travelers looking for a comfortable, reliably delicious meal.
The menu focuses on familiar, satisfying comfort food—done plant‑based. Popular picks include chili cheese fries, a classic burger, a black bean burger with a balanced spicy mayo on request, and a Reuben layered with seitan that wins over skeptics and fans alike. Many guests also praise the gyro for its convincing texture and flavor, and the buffalo sandwich for its craveable sauce and toppings. Appetizers such as fried pickles and seitan wings (including Thai BBQ) are frequently mentioned, and sides like cucumber salad, potato salad, and Brussels sprouts round out the plate. Reviewers appreciate that dishes taste indulgent without feeling fussy, delivering the diner experience people love—just made vegan.
Brunch brings a rotating lineup that keeps regulars excited. Visitors call out the Monte Cristo with biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles (often served with strawberries and a side of fried apples), blueberry pancakes, and cherry cream cheese pancakes. There are also hearty breakfast plates—from breakfast chimichangas to burritos—that deliver bold flavor without being overly spicy. Guests note quick service, generous portions, and fair pricing, which makes it easy to sample more than one entrée. Whether you lean sweet with pancakes and baked apples or savory with biscuits and gravy, brunch here is a comfortable, unhurried way to start your weekend.
Certain items show up again and again in guest praise. The Reuben and gyro are standouts for flavor and texture, often surprising non‑vegans. The 10th Street Burger anchors many meals, while the chorizo chimichanga, crunchwrap, and buffalo sandwich draw repeat orders. On the snacking side, fried pickles, chips and cheese, and seitan wings make easy wins for sharing. Sides have their own fan base: Brussels sprouts (also featured with the arugula salad), cucumber salad, breakfast potatoes, and battered fries. For something sweet, guests remember carrot cake, banana bread, and seasonal baked treats. With “something for everybody,” groups with mixed diets regularly report that everyone leaves happy.
Guests describe the dining room as cozy and no‑frills with a homey industrial look—an inviting place to relax and talk. Ordering is straightforward, service is quick, and many visits report little to no wait. Seating options include indoor tables and counter seating, and the space suits solo diners, families, and larger groups. The atmosphere is typically quiet enough for conversation, and multiple reviewers note the team’s warm, attentive approach. Kid‑friendly choices—like grilled cheese or nuggets—make it an easy pick for family meals.
Reviewers consistently mention generous serving sizes and reasonable prices, commonly around $10 per person for many meals. That value, combined with hearty portions, makes the diner a practical choice for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. Convenience is part of the appeal: guests highlight plenty of free parking (with additional free street parking noted by some), easy dine‑in service, and quick takeout. The relaxed pace means you can enjoy a full meal without rushing, yet still get in and out efficiently when your schedule is tight.
From longtime vegans to first‑time visitors, feedback is remarkably consistent: this is a reliable place for flavorful vegan food that feels familiar. Local Guides praise the gyro’s convincing seitan, the Reuben’s balance, and the wings’ bold sauces. Families point to kid‑friendly options and quick service. Many guests specifically recommend the diner to both vegans and non‑vegans, noting that everyone at the table finds something they love. With friendly staff, generous portions, and crowd‑pleasing comfort dishes, 10th Street Diner earns its word‑of‑mouth reputation as a must‑try stop for a satisfying, plant‑based meal.
